Luke Adams
Luke is a longtime resident of Sunnyside, now retired from his agency, Don Bar Travel, specializing in exotic travel. He enjoyed introducing other people and cultures to his customers with tours to China, Africa, Egypt, India, Israel, Europe and South America. Luke had a solo gallery show, "The People's Republic of China," 30 years ago at the Philip Jackson Fine Art Workshop in Woodside. Greg Amend
Greg is a photographer and painter. Most of his photography is travel-focused and his paintings tend to be abstract oils or acrylics. He grew up in New Jersey and now lives in Woodside. Emilia Andrzejewska
Emilia was born in Poland and emigrated with her parents and brother to the US when she was nine. Always a city dweller, she has always been intrigued by the mystery of nature and animals as part of rural life, and explores that mystery in her art. Virginia Asman
Virginia was born in the state of New York but spent most of her life at the Jersey shore before moving to NYC in 1995. She studied digital design at Pratt Manhattan after extensive studio work in more traditional fine arts media at Parsons School of Design, the Arts Students League and Montclair State University. She has exhibited her drawings, paintings, prints and digital art in galleries, juried shows and art festivals in NY and NJ. Considering herself an "emerging artist," she was thrilled to have one of her signature digital montages accepted in the 2008 31st Annual Small Works Show at the Washington Square East Galleries. Elena Berlo
Elena is an architect and fine artist. She lives in Sunnyside with her two young sons, and husband, Gene, also an architect. She is originally from Romania, and studied at Queen Maria National College of Art, Ion Mincu University of Architecture in Bucharest, and at Fashion Institute of Technology. Ann Cofta

Casey Concelmo
Casey has discovered a passion for historical technique. He has begun to work primarily in egg tempera and enjoys making his own panels and frames. Doug Condon
Doug is a traditional realist painter who works in watercolor, acrylic and ink. He received his training at the School of Visual Arts, where he earned both a bachelor’s degree in illustration and a master’s degree in applied teaching. Bridy Crawford
Bridy’s vision is to create renewable art, expressed in a variety of eco-friendly materials, from bamboo and fabric remnants to paint mis-mixes. Jesse Destasio
Jesse is an artist based in Queens. He was formerly an ice cream cake maker at Carvel. He was in charge of writing birthday (and funeral) messages with colored sugar gel in cursive (a skill he barely learned in grade school). Also under his charge was the task of mopping floors and cleaning out the ice cream machines with hot water. Jesse diligently performed these tasks at every shift with no fanfare. He was later fired. Scott Dodson
Scott is an artist based in Woodside who uses latex and acrylic paint to create intricate images of animals, parading in a web of corners and crisp lines. The paintings explore the dynamic nature of curves and spaces as they converge to create a lattice of intertwining shapes and colors. Simon Donikian
Simon is based in Woodside. In 1970 he graduated from the Institute of Cartographic Design in Bucharest, Romania, and emigrated to NY the following year. In 1985 he chose Queens cityscapes as his major subject. He has had over 45 shows. His work is in the permanent collections of the New York Historical Society and Museum and the Museum of the City of New York. He states: “Visual art has to do its own silent speaking -- first on the wall of the show, then on the wall of the owner. The Internet has solved the exposure, philosophy, contact, etc. The life of the artist is tested to all kinds of deadly waves, whether he/ she becomes a spirit or just dust visible to very few.” His website is www.donikian.com.
 
Patricia Dorfman
Pat is an artist and designer who works primarily digitally in illustration. She is creative director of Sunnysidepost.com, the founder of Sunnysideartists.org, and a member of LICartists. She attended SVA and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is originally from Alabama and lives in Sunnyside with her husband, Richard Drake. Emily Dunne
Emily is a NY-based mixed-media artist and a recent graduate of Sarah Lawrence College with a major in fine art. Her work is extremely material-based, with the source imagery consisting of junk store photographs. Betty-Ann Hogan
Betty-Ann is a prominent local painter who seeks to capture light, which "guides, transforms and unifies." She is represented by Pleiades Gallery, NYC, and has exhibited extensively. Ellen Mandelbaum
Ellen has worked in stained glass for over 25 years. She has just returned from an exhibit in Chartres, France. She is internationally known for her original painting on stained glass. Valerie Mendelson
Valerie is an art historian and painter living in Sunnyside.
